Without heritage there is no context, no sense of place. All places become a generic Anywheresville. Heritage is Brighton and Hove’s unique selling point and a major draw for our tourist trade from Regency times onwards. We neglect heritage at our peril. Even the seafront lanterns are iconic and unique to Brighton and we need them restored to their rightful place.

After many decades of neglect by local politicians whose first duty is to their national party, it’s time to take our city back and make it Independent, run by passionate locals who can devote their time and energy to running Brighton and Hove with no conflicting oaths or agendas.
